Hogzilla HTC-1464T Tub Grinder

(14’ Tub With 11’-11” Transport Width)

Nikau have been committed to maintaining innovation and improvement in demolition and salvage techniques, our most recent industry improvement is the acquisition of a 2005 model Hogzilla Tub Grinder from the US, which moves us closer to our aim of zero reclaimable wastes to landfill. The Hogzilla is the largest materials processing Tub Grinder in New Zealand, and one of only two Hogzilla's in Australasia. Manufactured in the United States by CW Mill Equipment Co Inc, the Hogzilla brand of tub grinders are the top of the line option, with greater capacity, reliability, and functionality than other lesser makes and models.Nikau’s Hogzilla is a fully tracked model. Amoung it’s uses, the machine is capable of shredding 1500 Truck and Car tyres per hour, into usable envelope sized chips of rubber, which have uses in the Power Generation, Roading and Construction Industries.

In terms of timber and green wastes, it can shred 160 Tonnes per hour into premium grade mulch, which can be used on reclaimed land, stabalising of steep slopes and of course in the gardening and landscaping industries. The Tub Grinder is also capable of grinding 1500 truck and car tyres per hour. Whilst the uses for this waste are currently limited, the reduction in volume (20% of previous volume), means a much reduced landfill requirement. Again, where quantities are large the Tub Grinder can be deployed on site.

(Turning the unusable into the usable)

Other waste products that are not able to be recycled, can be shredded down to approximately 20% of their volume, thus reducing the pressure on landfills, and extending their lives. Due to this reduction in volume, less time is spent on compaction and placement of material.
